THE NEW YOUTH PROTECTION ACT APPLIES as of 04/01/2016

 

Persons younger than 18 may no longer purchase electronic cigarettes, shishas or liquids in retail or online shops in Germany as of 04/01/2016.
Online shops must ensure that persons under 18 years of age are not permitted to place an order. Therefore, we must complete an age check before completing the purchase.

 

 

HOW DOES REVOLTAGE COMPLETE THE AGE CHECK?

 

You will not be subject to any restrictions on your purchase, since the age check is conducted in the background:

Schufa completes an inquiry for your address data and date of birth automatically.

We have selected Schufa as our partner since it has the largest data set.
The inquiry will not affect your credit rating, nor result in any negative impact on your Schufa data. It only checks to ensure your data matches.

 

 

PROVIDING YOUR DATE OF BIRTH

 

In general, in the past we only requested data from you which was absolutely necessary to carry out your order. Because of this, most customers have not yet entered their date of birth. Before you complete the order, therefore, we request that you provide your date of birth (at the bottom) in your customer account. Otherwise, you will see an error message later on during the age check.

 

 

WHAT HAPPENS IF THERE IS AN ERROR MESSAGE?

 

Occasionally, the age check cannot be completed. This can be the case, for instance, if Schufa is not familiar with you, or if your data does not match up. In this case, you can upload your personal ID, and we will approve your account manually. We will inform you via e-mail once the account has been approved.

 

 

AGE CHECK UPON DELIVERY

 

Upon delivery, we must also check to ensure that the package is not received by a minor. Therefore, the delivery can no longer be completed to agreed pickup locations.

Please check your delivery address.
If there is no authorized recipient who can receive your shipment, the delivery will be provided for pick-up at the closest available post office location.
You can also still have your shipment delivered to a location besides your billing address (such as your office). In this case, it must be ensured that an adult is available to receive the package.
